Visit from Taiwan: Hospitation Tour

Dr. Lim Sher Wei, a neurosurgeon at Chi Mei Hospital in Tainan, undertook a long journey from Taiwan together with his Sales Manager, Mr. Tsung I Mah, to learn deformity surgery from Professor Geiger, Chief Physician at Hessing Clinics in the Spine Center Augsburg.

During this observational tour, Dr. Lim had the opportunity to participate in various surgeries. In addition to deformity procedures using the rod-screw system DIPLOMAT, he also observed an access within the framework of an ALIF procedure with BIG ST, as well as a percutaneous screw fixation with the DIPLOMAT system in combination with a vertebral body replacement using POSEIDON ST.

Thanks to the dedicated efforts of Professor Geiger, Dr. Hofmeister, and his team, as well as Dr. Lim’s curiosity, the observational tour was highly successful and provided valuable insights into different surgical techniques.
