This course on the ALIF (Anterior Lumbar Interbody Fusion) surgical technique provides in-depth knowledge of surgical management of the lumbar spine. The course is aimed at spinal surgeons and junior doctors who wish to familiarise themselves with the ALIF technique or specifically enhance their surgical skills. Topics covered include indications, anatomical principles, surgical approaches, surgical steps, implant placement, management of complications, and practical tips for safe application in everyday clinical practice.

The practical component of the training takes place using human cadavers and enables participants to gain realistic, in-depth experience of the surgical technique under expert supervision. The structured combination of theoretical content and practical application supports the long-term development of skills – from the basics right through to an advanced level.
