The JASPIS® ST disc replacement implant has been developed specifically for the requirements of anterior cervical vertebral fusion (C3-TH1). With JASPIS® ST we have retained the product features of our proven RABEA® cages and combined them with an innovative material solution: „ST“ – Structural Titanium. The implant rages are available in various designs, footprints, heights and angles to enable adaption to different patient anatomies.

JASPIS® ST is implanted in the C3-TH1 spinal region using the proven Smith-Robinson technique. As well as the simple implantation procedure, the large surface area of cage maximises the area of contact to the vertebral body and also maximises the filling volume.

The open design of the implant permits the cage to be packed with natural or synthetic bone graft substitute such as KAINOS® Inject.

The large selection of implants provides for a high degree of intraoperative flexibility and ensures restoration of the intervertebral space. In addition to the parallel implants, JASPIS® ST is also available in an 8° lordosis angle (due to the taper of the cage all 4 mm cages are fitted with a maximum lordosis angle of 4°).

Intelligent design
  • Familiar Smith-Robinson surgical technique
  • Rectangular design for simple intraoperative preparation
  • 0° and 8° implant lordosis to restore sagittal balance
  • Different footprints and 1 mm height gradations for optimal adjustment to the patient anatomy
Open implant design
  • Can be packed with natural or synthetic bone graft substitute
  • Promotes osseointegration
Smooth lateral surfaces
  • Reduced risk of injury of the surrounding tissue
Large contact area with the vertebral body
  • Secure implant positioning
  • Reduced risk of subsidence
Macroporous titanium structure
  • Resembles natural cancellous architecture
  • Enables both growing-on and growing-in of bone
Increased roughness in conjunction with proven SIGNUS toothed cages design
  • Secure anchorage in the bone owing to high primary stability
  • Reduced risk of implant migration

Manufactured from a biocompatible titanium alloy (Ti-6Al-4V) with proven strength.

The open, porous structure of ST implants increases the surface area for new bone cells to settle, thus increasing the contact surface between the implant and the end plate of the adjacent vertebral body. In combination with the surface roughness of the implant, a high primary stability and a significantly reduced risk of migration can therefore be achieved. This is additionally favoured by the open and interconnecting porosity, which enables successful grafting of endogenous cell material and its propagation.
