To provide an optimal patient treatment the demands placed on a pedicle screw system are very high – regardless of the particular indication. Both simple and complex spine treatments require a maximum of security and stability. Therefore reliable, ergonomic and functional instrument sets are an absolute must for surgeons.
DIPLOMAT® from SIGNUS combines all of these features.
DIPLOMAT® MIS stands for:
Clinical experience:
Along with impressive clinical outcomes, the removable tulip also shows outstanding results in laboratory tests:
Tulip disengagement testing: The locking mechanism ensures an extremely strong connection between the screw and tulip.Rod push-out testing: The set screw, with its Torx T30 connection, provides a higher torque on insertion and enables a very strong grip of the screw on the rod.
DIPLOMAT®: one system for all indications
The DIPLOMAT® MIS rod screw system is designed for minimally invasive use on the thoracic/lumbar spine and is used for internal dorsal stabilization of TH2 - S2.
The system can be used in one or more segments until the bony fusion of the spinal column has taken place. DIPLOMAT offers a complete range of components for the system with well thought-out design.
The DIPLOMAT pedicle screws are available as one- or two-part implants.
The polyaxial screws can be individually combined with the separately available MIS tulips depending on the indication and surgical situation. A system change from MIS to open is not necessary. The tulip can be exchanged in-situ for a standard or reduction tulip if required. The monoaxial screws are available as one-piece implants. The implants are available non-sterile and sterile (on request).
DIPLOMAT can therefore be described as follows: one system for all indications
The implants are made of a titanium (Ti-6Al-4V according to ASTM F 136 / ISO 5832-3) and cobalt-chromium-molybdenum alloy (ASTM F 1537 / ISO 5832-12) and are nickel-free (ASTM F 136 / ISO 5832-3)
For easy identification, the implants are coated with oxide layers of different colours. Changes in colour are due to production and preparation and have no influence on functionality.
The materials are established for use as implants. They are biocompatible, corrosion-resistant, non-toxic in the biological environment and allow for trouble-free imaging in X-rays.
